OQ®-45.2
The OQ®-45.2 is a brief 45-item self report outcome/tracking instrument designed for repeated measurement of client progress through the course of therapy and following termination.
The OQ®-45.2 is the result of a unique partnership between behavioral health care administrators, practitioners, and academic researchers in response to the changing mental health arena and the accompanying demands for cost containment, quality care, reliable monitoring, and accountability for services provided. As continuous monitoring of outcome may be achieved by standardized data, Dr's. Burlingame, Lambert, and Reisinger et al set out to design an instrument that would meet the needs of both providers and payors. The OQ®-45.2 is the product of intensive research and meets multiple needs in today's market. Outstanding features of the measure include:
- Standardized data: The OQ®-45.2 is a standardized instrument with empirical support. It is based on normative data. Its validity and reliability exceed industry standards.
- A monitoring tool that is user-friendly: The OQ®-45.2 may be administered and scored in a matter of minutes.
- Assists with streamlining paperwork and with treatment planning: The OQ®-45.2 is designed to be an indicator of change and thereby can shorten progress notes. Treatment planning is made easier from assessing the content areas of the OQ®-45.2.
- Content that assesses functional level and change over time: Many products are designed to test for specific symptomatology and assign diagnoses. However, these same products often have no mechanism to show change and thus cannot be used to assess outcomes in treatment. The OQ®-45.2 measures functioning in 3 domains: Symptom distress (heavily loaded for depression and anxiety), Interpersonal functioning, and Social Role. This enables the practitioner to assess functional level and change over time. This approach cuts across treatment models, diagnoses, and disciplines making the OQ®-45.2 applicable in a wide variety of settings, and can facilitate comparison among these and other variables.
- Risk assessment: The OQ®-45.2 contains risk assessment items for suicide potential, substance abuse, and potential violence at work.
- Languages: The OQ®-45.2 is available in English, Spanish, French, Japanese, Swedish, Dutch, French, Norwegian, Arabic, German, Italian, Russian.
The OQ®-45.2 is available in our software product - The OQ®-Analyst. This software is designed to administer the OQ®-45.2 in either electronic or paper format (e.g. Kiosk, PC, PDA or scanning). The OQ®-Analyst contains empirically and rationally derived algorithms that detect "failing" cases as well as plot improvement. Learn more about the OQ®-Analyst.
